• Sophie McCarthy •

Sophie is a Managing Director at ASGK Public Strategies. In that capacity, McCarthy works directly with clients to assist in the development and implementation of message strategy.

Prior to working at ASGK, McCarthy worked as the Western State Director of Missouri for Obama for President. In that position, she developed and executed the organizational and political programs in the battleground state, and managed relationships with elected officials, media and key stakeholders.

McCarthy also worked for ASGK’s political counterpart, AKPD Message & Media, where she was the Chief of Staff from 2004 through 2007. In that position McCarthy worked closely with David Axelrod on many hotly contested political campaigns, including President Obama's Senate race, Deval Patrick's gubernatorial bid, and Tammy Duckworth's congressional race.

McCarthy worked as a public relations professional at Dan Klores Communications in New York City where she served as a Senior Account Executive for a diverse group of clients including Merrill Lynch, the National Constitution Center, the New York State Trial Lawyer Association, and the Working Families Party of New York.

A native of Kansas City, Missouri, McCarthy got her start in politics working on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide to then Congresswoman Karen McCarthy.
